Had a perfect travel day yesterday. Actually got away early, 8:45, and had beautiful cold clear weather all day. It was only once we got close to Portland that we saw any snow at all and there it was only deep in the bush. But shortly after we stopped for the night the snow started. We got the car and headed inland towards a town called Fryeburg, and as we headed inland we started seeing bits of snow on the sides of the road.... then a frozen lake.... and gradually all of the frozen parts appeared more and more, until we were surrounded by (icy) snow that had fallen a while ago but not melted. ...
