... the folks dropping crab lines off the end of the pier and of course having a Mr Whippy ice cream, before getting the slow train back. After a spot of shopping in Southend we went home to fire up the BBQ hoping it wouldn't rain and managed to get everything cooked and eaten with only clouds overhead. ... do we beat a hasty retreat to another dump, Woolwich. It was soooo bad that after discovering that Riverside House no longer was part of the University of Greenwich and driving by the Common, we beat a hasty retreat to Greenwich. We parked the car in Greenwich Park and after hunting for the Meridian line, walked through the park in the freezing rain into town. As we were both starving, we stopped at the Gypsy Moth pub for Fish, Chips and mushy peas and a pint of London Pride. ...
