      ... and a boat trip to see the statue of liberty. First we decided to do the uptown bus tour which went all around the edge of central park up to Grants Tomb and back again. It was freezing on the top of the bus and very windy! When it started to rain we did have to move down stairs.

      woah. camp is over. it has been busy. and i forgot to keep account of all the stuff that happened. loads of camp performaces happened - from the sound of music, to the sound of the owner of the camp jamming along to an orchestra by playing the typewrighter.
      also on one of the lazy days i went to see a free broadway show called violet payed for by camp. i enjoyed it muchly and the brief stroll around NYC.

      ... are hard young black men with basket balls who look threatening but to be frank are friendly and welcoming. We chat to locals on the bus who served in NAM (who lost a brother in the Tet Offensive in 1966) and was injured in 9/11 as well as a lovely lady from Dulwich who is missing the UK. Funeral Parlours abound alongside Pentecostal Churches and smart restaurants selling Afro-Caribbean food. The iconic Apollo Theatre is a must. This is where people like ...
