Last week there was snow on the mountains and the views from the house were fantastic. Also had some brilliant sunsets here as well.

So instead we took a walk from Ambleside which took us out of the town and steadily up a valley. At least this time we got some views! It was beautiful in Autumn and we reached a lovely river which we crossed to then eventually circle back to town.

... dinner in a hotel in Windermere, meals together in the site restaurant, a group walk up the river from Levens Hall and hospitality in each others van's. On top of all this we had parts of days when we were free to do our own thing. By the end of the week I was really tired but Treacle, who isn't allowed to attend the social events, was bubbling over with energy.

On the first day I went on an exploratory walk on footpaths near the site. ...
