Time to go home

... They double check all of our ticket information. And they scan our boarding ticket and we head pass them only to go downstairs to another holding area. We are greeted with another security check by a man with a wand. When they start to board it is not as chaotic as in Cairo and they are calling rows. We head to the door and listen so we don’t miss anything. I test to see if they are really enforcing the rows they have called, they are. ...

... mind because we were heading back to Thailand, which we loved! Our flight was from Ho Chi Minh, and we didn’t fancy getting another bus so instead we got some sleeping berths on a train!! The train really wasn’t that good a train, but it was better than the bus!!

We flew into Bangkok and thought we may as well spend a few days there before heading to Koh Samui (the island we had our honeymoon on, and the island we loved most of all!). We stayed in a spooky ...

... post office building, there is a complex attached to a Radisson Blu Hotel. I forded through the thick midday heat to the secondary lobby entrance, which was closer than the grand entrance off the bank of the Creek itself. Inside, I found a variety of shops and restaurants, including my new favorite venue, Minato. http://www.radissonblu.com/hotel-dubaid eiracreek/dining/minato

... they don't go for the alcohol, they go for more, better, cheaper electronic devices. It's like they are electroholics, the new pendant to our alcoholics. In this shopping frenzy they all seem to be loosing track of time. The gate already announced the final call and there were still no people to be seen. It takes at least 5 announces and a stewardess running through the airport to get the lice in the sack and even then they don't bother hurrying ...

    Good again

    from anonymous

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for the fourth time in November 2005 as we have always found it very comfortable with good rooms and caring staff. There are a variety of dining options both in hotel and close by.It is situated nearer to the city centre than the resort hotels for shopping etc.Unfotunatley this visit I was ill and was confined to the room for the last few days. The care and attention both medical and otherwise could not have been better which just confirms how good the staff are.

    Perfect Hotel

    from florida7718

Stayed at the Emirates Towers Hotel for 8 nights in October 2005. It was fantastic. The service is perfect, rooms are luxurious. Breakfast couldn't be bettered. There is a several times a day bus shuttle to the Jumeirah Beach Club (free of charge). Fabulous beach location with lovely pools.

Fantastic stay at the Emirates Towers

    from Dave Clarke

Excellent hotel with great services and range of restaurants. My wife and I have just returned from a 6 day break at the hotel and it was wonderful. Clearly more business than family this suited us well, its sister hotel the Jumereih Beach is more child orientated the Towers is more sophisticated - try the cocktail bar at the top if the tower after dark, its a great location for a business or romantic drink.

The on site Gym, Leisure and Pool area is particularly good

    Poor Service

    from anonymous

We stayed at The Emirates Towers Hotel for 3 days at the end of our holiday in Dubai- we found the service in the hotel poor in comparison to our previous hotels (Jebel Ali Golf and Al qasr) which was a shame.Pool area not very good for the size of this hotel the pool is definately an after thought on the designers part.Rooms of fair size but overall the price we paid this hotel was a big disappointment.

Caters mainly to the buisness traveller not advisable for families.Front desk staff rude and unhelpful. Will not be returning to this hotel.

    Great

    from anonymous

I have been in many hotels in Dubai but the E-Towers is one of my favorites, I have been in a bigger room than a standard one, it was great with all things a business traveller needs. For sure I will be back, I have booked it for beginning of October and I am looking forward to it !

    Great stay

    from anonymous

Stayed at the emirates towers for a week last January whilst Partner was there for work, whilst it is more geared to business people I had a great time, all the staff were very polite and helpful, the rooms were brilliant, we had a corner room which if necessary could be made into a suite by shutting the door on the corner, the bed was huge, the view was stunning, the bathroom was amazing, a huge great big bath and a massive walk in shower. There were baskets of apples on every floor by the lifts, it used to be a battle to see who could call the lift first me or the member of staff, the swimming pool was very tidy and the pool area was always neat, the key was also different being electronic and in the the shape of the hotel, I would stay here again .

    Food

    from fern10

The best hotel in the world!!!!!

The breakfast in the reasturant is to die for. Eat all and as much as you can

Staff very helpful and full of smiles all the time. Very easy to get any where in the town from this hotel, complementry bus shuttle to other areas.

    Absolute Luxury!

    from HenDoChick

Have stayed there twice now. We paid to upgrade which is slightly more, but you get whizzed through immigration and transported to the hotel via a swanky people carrier and issued with a cooled face towel and bottle of water. Hotel lobby is really stunning, as are the rooms, food and service. In every way they go that little bit extra, and although not by the beach the hotel does allow access to Beach Club and Beach Hotel.

    NOT BAD

    from luxurytraveller21

I stayed here August 2004 on a short business trip.

I do think this is a business orientated hotel. Not so much fun for the wife and young child. The pool is very small although you are free to use the other hotels nearby owned by the group.

The welcome and airport transfer were excellent. The room was average but it had sensationally large windows and panoramic views. I also got a good price being out of season.

Large selection of restaurants although my favourite was the Friday brunch buffet beside the lifts, excellent value.

Not my first choice in Dubai, but I wouldn't hesitate at staying here again.

High Life at the Top of Emirates Towers Hotel, Dubai UAE

    from Dreaming_of_Elysium

Just returned from the Emirates Towers Hotel in Dubai, 51 floors of gleaming glass, shining metal and marble, an ultra smart hub of business like activity which was a shock to the system after 8 days lying on a Mauritian beach. The hotel was chosen by us because of its close proximity to the shopping of Dubai, the airport and its complimentary transport and membership to the Jumeriah Beach Club an exclusive ex-pat hang out on the beautiful Jumeriah Beach. The shuttel bus also stops at the Mercato Shopping Mall and the Wild Wadi Water Park from which it is a easy stroll along the causeway to the fabulously decadent 7* Burj al Arab to which you have free access to visit on production of proof of residence at the Emirates Towers.

I would recommend this hotel to any wives accompaning thier husbands on business trips to Dubai because of the above feature, and because the hotel has a large shopping mall underneath. Lots of excellent restaurants,in this mall not least the Lebonese restaurant Nafoorah, reputedly visited by the Sheik himself, in which we had a lovely final evening in Dubai, complete with a complimentary rose bouquet for our anniversary and an amazing dessert tower crowned with smoking dry ice! Fantastic atmosphere, hubble bubble pipes the works! But book a day in advance. Also not to be missed is Vu's the 51st floor bar with amazing views of Dubai's twinkling skyscape. We had an luxury executive room which was OK but a bit business like with its imposing desk, computer and fax machine. The majority of the guests were on business which may not be what everyone wants if on a pleasure trip. It was very busy and not very relaxing, but hey, who goes to Dubai to chill out? its shopping heaven with gorgeous warm sea and powder fine beaches thrown in for good measure. The hotel did mix up our booking, but graciously let us take our room before 8am because we had flown in overnight and did give us some great freebies because we were on our silver wedding anniversary trip so all in not bad at all! Reccomended for brusque efficient service but don't expect the personal touch.
