We woke up to sunshine which was the first we had seen in days so I was sort of feeling torn between racing home or spending a few moments checking out the Lake. We asked for some suggestions from the front desk and got a great tip to take the scenic drive up Prospect Mountain which was literally a few blocks away. We eventually ended up at Lake Champlain where we crossed the bridge and took a short walk to see the Lake Champlain lighthouse. Normally I think you could drive back to it but it was blocked off due to the season closing of the camping area. But the visitor center was still open and a very sweet lady chatted with us and directed us on how to walk to see the lighthouse. Again ...
