... We decided to delay our trip to the Slaughters until the next day – we were not as bad off as one fellow in a car behind us, who was to catch a flight from Heathrow to India – we don’t think he made the flight, by the time he got clear and then had a diversion, he would be waiting for the next flight for sure.

The two villages of Slaughter are quite quaint – mostly, they are stone villages. The walls, houses, ...

... me to take some more spectacular photos. Our special guest was Juliet Marillier, a YA and fantasy author who has requested an invitation to the Readers and Writers Festival. Today we went up to Broadway Tower, a 18th century folly where, on a clear day you can see over 10 counties. Unfortunately it was a bit hazy today, so we could only see 4 or 5. We will then hit the road and head south, stopping off at the hot spa pools ...

Two days in to this fabulous writing course, and I have already learnt so much. Kate is a wonderful, patient, giving teacher who is so generous with her time and knowledge, and is really helping me define what it is I want to write about. I already have the outline for my first novel(!) and we will be working on this more during the week. Classes go from 9.00 am to about 12.30 pm each day, and we always run over time as we keep getting off topic and everyone ...

England Swings...... We have had an amazing few days... From the prehistoric world of Stonehenge ... Through the little country villages driving to Bath. Then the fun of the Therma Spa... Hot pools and steam rooms topped off with a bubbling spa on the rooftop overlooking the stone city of Bath... A great meal and finally a good nights sleep... Over the jet lag... Today we started with a history lesson as we visited the Roman Baths and saw ...
