Historical Traveler Reviews Ellis Hotel Atlanta

Un hotel precioso, muy bien situado

    from

    Excellent Weekend Getaway

    from

My wife and I booked this room for the SEC Championship weekend December 2007. The hotel staff at the front desk were great. Their only downfall was that they didn't tell us you have to insert your key card in the elevator in order to get to your room floor. For downtown Atlanta this hotel is priced excellently. The regular rooms were smaller than a room at a chain hotel outside of the city but the quality of the room and hotel more than makeup for the size. The business center had two computers in it with a scanner and printer. The fitness center had enough equipment for the average workout. After the game we spent the rest of our evening in the bar which was a great experience since we had plenty of company with other LSU and Tennessee fans. Mimi, the bartender, had a busy night with a full house but she made it seam like we were the only ones in the bar.

A few words of advice about parking...There is a garage on the next block west of the Hotel but be careful because the attendant tried to rip us off by charging us for 2 days when we parked for less than 24 hours. The valet may be a better option if you're not familiar with the downtown area. Also this hotel is within walking distance of The Dome, Philips Arena, New World of Coke, Atlanta Aquarium, Olympic Park, etc.

The next time we book a room in downtown Atlanta, it will definitely be at The Ellis.

    from

    from

    from

Nice Boutique Hotel in downtown Atlanta

    from

We stayed 2 nights in November, 2007, and we were happy with our visit. The Ellis is a small boutique hotel with 127 rooms. Recently remodeled, everything is new. Our king-sized bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was sparkling. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. If you are driving to the hotel, call the hotel in advance to know were to park while registering. The valet parks your car, unless you want to park in a public lot a block away.

    Tolles neues Hotel in Atlanta.

    from

...E-Street Grill. Kann das Hotel wärmstens empfehlen.

    Great new hotel in Atlanta

    from

New hotel in Atlanta, great service and great product. High Speed Internet is free and beds are very comfortable. Flat TV (hdtv) is a nice touch, and food was great. ...e-street grill.

I would highly recomend this hotel.

    Superb hotel in excellent location

    from

Hotel just openend in mid-Oct 07. Staff extremely helpful and friendly, rooms and public spaces trendy and beautiful. Located across from subway station coming from airport and, bang in the middle of downtown and in walking distance from the convention centre. Breakfast not bad but not as outstanding as the rest.

Spitzen Hotel in einer spitzen Lage.

    from

Well. It's official. I'm am FINALLY going to Sicily! Being able to spend 11 weeks in Sicily is a dream come true and I could not be more excited for it. The reason I will be in Sicily all summer is Camp Adventure, the program I went to Hawaii with last summer. I will be a day camp counselor on an US Navy base there. I will work Monday through Friday with cute little kiddos and then will ...

    ... Sheraton WTC Sao Paolo.

We were greeted in the lobby by Isabela Perazza, the International Sales Manager, and Victor Candido, who assists with the corporate travel side of things. Isabela and Victor took us on a tour of the hotel, showing us the pool, the restaurant, the meeting space, and the Presidential suite, which took up half of the top floor and was spectacular. I mean, there was a giant piano in the living room! Staying true to ...

After an hour delay and a rather bumpy flight I made it to Atlanta where I was greeted by another hour long queue to clear customs and security cutting down my waiting time to only 2 hours!

During this time I had to buy a Starbucks coffee and the 'Internationally recognised bst beer of America' - Samuel Jones I think it was called?!

Another 4 hour flight followed, then a half hr taxi ride for a rather reasonable $28.

I arrived at the hotel at ...

    Short reason for this blog:

Girl's Weekend on a Carnival Cruise (Glory to be exact) to Saint John, NB, Canada.

    DAY ONE:
Cashed in some AMEX miles, dumped them over to AirTran and flew out of ATL into BWI for the start of my Girl's Weekend with best pal, Nancy. I love flying AirTran, especially when upgraded to Biz Class! And yes, I did enjoy the free wine whenever the lazy flight attendant would bring ...
