      ... said that the colors were the most dramatic in years-they were right! There were reds, oranges, golds, the 'whole shootin match'.

      We took some wonderful hikes and marveled at how incredibly gorgeous the fall is in Upstate New York.

      ... up with me, so I only stayed for about 10 minutes. I think he would have chatted all day though. When I said goodbye he said, "I hope you live a long life and I never die."       We had a leisurely morning before getting underway about 11:30 AM. We have left the Mohawk river and are in the man-made portion of the Erie Canal. The channels are mostly straight but still scenic. We have stopped for the night above Lock 21 near New London, New York. Now this is a quiet stop! No trains or roads ...

      Day 20 - Moving day from Siena to Rome. Will not be a very eventfull day, Leisurely breakfast and pack our stuff up ready to move out . Called a taxi from the hotel to take us to the station. The poor taxi man must have thought he had a couple of fishwives in the back.
