Heads full of history we hit the road and made for the Bab Al Sham Resort for sundowners in the desert ..........a modest little pad close to one of Sheik Al Maktours little weekend residences. If you fancy getting away from it all, this would be a great place to go........Mrs C soon discovered they did mean G&T's. The seating area was high up, festooned with cushions and lanterns. To complete the picture there were ...

The Grand Mosque, all the taxi drivers took great pride in telling us it is the 8th largest the was a bit of a non-event, just a REALLY big empty space of symmetry and gawdy gold And we're off to ...

... hump or two....I was looking for flats...tick! It is quiet out there, you can almost hear yourself think. Desert with the occasional shrub can be seen from all directions. We rode as the sun came up and before I knew it, we had done our 30kms and were back at the car. Getting on a bike again.....WORLD CLASS! Some down time was followed by possibly my highlight to date in Dubs.....a desert safari run by a tour company called Arabian Nights. So, I've been on ...
