... with spruce and pine trees, and we crossed numerous creeks and rivers. There were no signs of wildlife other than the signs on the side of the road warning you not to hit the moose. The Accuweather forecast had shown a high of 72⁰ with clear to partly cloudy skies, but we could see rain showers and lightning in the distance. Although we got a few drops along the route, the skies held and we made it to Barkerville after a few quick stops at ...
Quesnel, British Columbia, Canada dlpoolWe have completed our trip down the inside passage. Great scenery, boring ride.
I have some left over pictures from Wrangell NP to start off the pictures. Notice how small the towns are. Haines has a summer population of about 2500. Valdez about 1200.
... up to its name, affording us spectacular views out every window of our truck. Fortunately, this route, which had been closed for several days due to two forest fires that had been burning out of control, re-opened about 12 hours prior to our departure. If it would have remained closed, we would have been re-routed and this would have tacked on a minimum of 3 hours of driving in order for us to reach our final destination ...
Quesnel, British Columbia, Canada weilnauToday was a day of riding . . .And then a two hour break in Prince George for some work on the bike. Last night I noticed that my rear tire was lacking enough tread down the middle of the tire, so I decided it was better to replace, than be sorry. So I called ahead to the Suzuki dealer in Prince George and the good news is they have exactly the tires I need, but they do not install ...
Williams Lake, British Columbia, Canada jstephensca... s just say you probably wouldn't feel any cleaner for using them. As far as tent camping in Williams Lake this was the best one until you got much farther from town, but I wouldn't recommend it for your next family vacation. Our second day on Williams Lake Becky came out with us as we did our compliance which was very helpful as she knew lots about the various properties along the lakeshore. We wandered around downtown a ...
Williams Lake, British Columbia, Canada lakeshorecrew... whenever you sit down and then just throw the cracked shells on the floor when done. Gotta love that! By the way, I've always been wanting to join those one week city-slicker horseback rides in Wyoming or Montana, but after spending 3 hours in the saddle in Banff, our knees were just shot, so that is off the list for now :-( Saturday morning we packed up and headed for Sandpoint, Idaho, via Castle Junction and highway 93. It was ...

Whistler, British Columbia, Canada pauloandabTwo more sleeps. There's never enough time, but Friday morning will arrive and I will be on my way. I enjoyed writing my blog last year when I was in Suriname and so decided to journal my travels and keep in touch the same way with this adventure. It is har to belive I'm off for almost 4 months of travel and such diversity. I've never had such a ...

Castlegar, British Columbia, Canada jeremyposter... and I took a walk around a park down by the lake before I went to get my hoagie. BC, like Aalaska and my guess is probably a lot of rural Canada, loves their ATV's. On every road there's a two laned ATV track that runs along side. While Bucket and I were in the park, I kept my ear to the ground to make sure that we didn't get run over.
