... coach ride home. It was funny, we left in plenty of time, but the traffic on the motorway was TERRIBLE! WE actually parked the car in a bus zone, ran across the road to the bus station and just made it in time for my departing bus...ahhh my adrenalin was definitely pumping!! Fun fun =]
Oh, I nearly forgot: Haggis is delicious, but apparently i was cheated out of real Scottish haggis (according to Dave and Alex)... which has left me deeply confused. Mine ...
We are sitting with a huge pile of travel guides, maps, notebooks, post it notes and general accumulated info in front of us wondering where to start!
The itinery is almost sorted out in terms of countries and cities. We've got the MASTA health brief and the FCO no go areas. We think we've got Visa requirments in hand and the boring (but necessary ...
... rely on your team members to watch ur back- this is not like danny and rafe from Pearl Harbour!!!) and some sneaky Cheat Team member got me on the arm, so i got up to get out... and as i was walking out, arms up signifying my defeat, they shot me again within 10 metres!!!!!!!! WAAAAAY too close!! the pain was terrible, corked my muscle so bad I had to sit down for half an hour! The bruise is cool to look at though, rainbow-like with greens, yellows, browns ...
Lancaster, England, United Kingdom katie.pitt... that Hersey's chocolate!". I personally have to agree, having become quite the connoisseur of Cadbury's (I bought a block last night that was filled with chocolate fudge).
My next main point of weekly excitement came on Wednesday night when we went down to hang out with our friends downstairs. They were all too excited when they saw that those plastic cups from American party movies really do exist. Unfortunately, long tables are themselves also nonexistent in ...
... when they invite me to play a friendly match of any sport.
To end this I will tell you I bought a pair of Ugg boots
today… I feel a little ashamed. They maybe quite ugly, but it is cold here (not
in respect to MI apparently there was snow last week?). I also am giving in to being a follower
of the ...
... Although it usually involves... yeah, no, I guess I won't go there in a family blog.
So that was what fresher's week included Bar crawls, Club nights, weird outfits, and oh yeah a few classes of orientations.
On Monday, classes started and this is where my blog gets boring. I am taking an Microbiology sequence (for those of you at state it is equivalent to MMG 301), and Physics (Equivalent to the 200 level intros officially, but calc based like ...
... to get a couple of rooms at a Bed n Breakfast down the road called "Sarah and Ronnie's". Sarah and Ronnie were VERY talkative!!
Anyway, once we had dumped our luggage in our rooms we took a walk out to the main drag which is right on the edge of the ocean. It was freezing cold, blowing a gale and the sea spray was covering us all with a fine misty layer of salt. I LOVED IT!
The whole main drag had thousands and thousands of coloured ...
Tow truck 2, turns up at 15:29 and we are off again for the next leg of the journey, Stirling Services to Lancaster Services. This journey takes around 4 hours and I have a nice chat with the driver, Jim all the way. We phone ahead and arrange the next tow truck to meet us at Lancaster at 19:15, guess what? Yes, it wasn't there and I am told it won't be there until 20:15 and it finally arrives at 20:30
Lancaster, England, United Kingdom peterward... like a huge fairground that just seems to go on forever. Being winter, all of the rides on the piers, along with the famous big dipper which has an almost vertical drop, as well as the Ferris wheel and numerous other rides are all closed. However I can imagine how exciting it would be for kids of all ages when it is all open and running, and the sounds and the lights would be fantastic. You can walk down to see all the lights that are lit up and afterwards catch a ...
Blackpool, United Kingdom bandglittleJohn took me to Blackpool. He may have wanted to show me a UK beach resort. The street along the beach was full of decorations. I took a picture of his profile in the car. It was just a memory of Blackpool. We were on the way from Preston, where we met his old friend, and John talked about the word "love", because people there used "love" meaning "you" very often, when they talk to someone, like "Good morning, love!". That sounded awkward to him.
