    First impressions of Sicily weren't very positive as we assumed the metered taxi would charge us the correct fair, but it was at least double what what it should have been, and the drive to the hotel wasn't impressive.     Up in decent time but took our time over coffee and breakfast and getting organized. We are on holidays after all! Hiked up to the castle quite high above town .. which was a good hike in itself with some great views of the coast as well as the town... and then down slightly and up a whole lot more to the small town of Castemola that sits above Taormina.     Breakfast in the hotel, great breakfast at this hotel, home made croissants etc. This hotel is in a great position with great views, just a little tired, the rooms need updating.
