    We had an enjoyable few hours in the Gardens before the next part of our journey, Tisbury, another town pertinent to the Burt family especially the now Boot Inn, a 17th century pub where one of Mary's brothers was brought to trial during the "Swing Riots" & then sent to Australia ...

    ... tick on the list. By lunchtime we were in Salisbury for a look at the cathedral. It's a beautiful cathedral, but I liked the Bath Abbey more, the stained glass windows were amazing there.     Arrived by train yesterday in St. Ives in Cornwall - wow! So cute! Just like something out of Doc Martin - keep expecting to see Martin Clunes storming down a street on his way to fix a crisis! Such a lovely change of pace after London. We are staying in a beautiful B and B called The Anchorage which is run by a lovely gay guy called Christopher, who entertained us each morning with suggestions for our day and information about Cornwall and surrounds. ...
