Goodbye America .... Hello again blog

This is a top pick!

... Before we got here we’d never tried AirBnb ( amazing) or Relay rides ( definitely get involved). We only managed to try Workaway in our last three weeks and wish we’d done it from the start ( free accommodation in exchange for some work). What we’ve loved about these things is that they put you in touch with real people who know the local area and can help you without selling to you. With these peer to peer sites too it’s ...

It's incredible this feeling of mustering in a place with so much to offer. This cruise we shall be going to Cozumal, Mexico . A similar itenary to the Fantasy, but a shorter one too! ... as “Millionaire’s Row,” mansions built by Mary Brickell in the early 1900’s. Mary was the widow of William Brickell, who along with Julia Tuttle, co-founded the City of Miami after having moved here from Cleveland in 1871. I could move here from Kansas City since it is too darned cold there.

About four miles south of my hotel is where Fort Brickell was built to protect Miamians from a ...

Day 20 - Miami

A travel blog entry by stueyd9

... Ran down and caught the bus with Danni and Nat down to South Beach to look around. Saw the Miami Ink shop, it looked nothing like it does on TV, then just walked around the streets and down to the beach. The beach was beautiful, the sand not the best, Perth's sand is definitely better but the water was amazingly clear and lovely and warm. Got the bus back to the hotel, managed to find my wallet under a heap of Paul's stuff, ...

    Absoutely Beautiful

    from

Let me start off by saying that I am a Hilton Honors Silver VIP, and usually stay in Hilton Brand Hotels 5-10 times a year, and other brands another 5-10 times a year.

    Romantic and Beautiful Hotel

    from

This Hotel is a beautiful and romantic hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone not overly interested on staying directly on the beach. The views overlook the golf course green. The staff at the hotel was top quality. The dining experience was romantic and delicious. This hotel is defiantly a return location for me.

Very nice Westin...free shuttle to the Diplomat Beachfront Hotel

    from

Marble baths & floors, super clean with very little room for allergins, the windows OPEN if needed, and the staff is super. Small hotel with a lot of plusses.

    Worse experience

    from

I checked into the Diplomat Hotel with my yorkie under my arm since I was advised by reservations that they were indeed a dog friendly hotel. I was told that I was to hide my dog for the entire weekend that I was spending at their facility. As terriers are prone to do, my dog barked during the night. This caused the front desk to remove my dog from my room while I was out of the room. I was asked to leave the hotel by seven o'clock the next morning because of my sevn pund dog. I am stilltrying to get the refund that was promised to me.

Very nice, quiet, loads of healthy activities!!

Stayed here on the weekend of May 20, 2005. I travel for business and stay in hotels approx. 100+ nights a year. As a platinum Starwood member we were upgraded to a golf course view and provided drink coupons (2 per night) and a continental breakfast coupon (1 per night). After check-in they also brought up a fruit and cheese plate amenity.

    Relaxtion to its finest

    from

I just stayed here with my wife for a little getaway. If you are looking for a resort with very few people, quiet atmosphere and a little peace and quiet then this is the resort for you. Wherever we went - the pool, restaurant, golf, lobby - there were only a few people there at a time.

    A great vacation getaway

    from

We just returned from 5 days at the Diplomat Country Club and we had a great time. Service was terrific (they greeted us by name when we walked in the front door), food was great, rooms were very nice with luxurious baths.....golf course was well manicured with lots of water and we enjoyed the unlimited use of the driving range and putting green. Spa was beautiful..and very well appointed....only complaints might be that the Spa services were a bit overpriced for what you received ($140 for a 50 minute massage inc gratuity and the same for a standard facial) but we enjoyed them nonetheless.....and the hot tub at the main pool was broken as was the one in the men's spa locker room (but I am sure they will be fixed soon) It was a terrific place to get away from it all..very very private and relaxing with great places to eat both at the Country Club,The Westin and surrounding area. This place was so quiet on two days my husband and I were the only people at the pool. If you want a romantic , quiet getaway...this is the place to go.

    Wonderful

    from

I love this property. The service is great. The rooms are beautiful. The spa is fabulous. Guests get to use the spa facilities free of charge including the fitness center, spa pool, steam room, etc. The spa has free water with lemon slices, herbal teas and fresh fruit. You can lounge around by the pool all day. It is definitely a quiet place. Not great for kids. But if you want to relax, play some tennis or golf, or just get pampered, the Diplomat is the place to stay. The Westin Diplomat nearby has access to the amenities at the Country Club for a fee. Country Club guests can also take the free shuttle to the Westin for other restaurants and the beach.

    WOW Loved it

    from

I just have to say that the Diplomat Country club has the best service I ever had in a hotel. The spa was incredible... it was like a dream. Thanks to the staff Chris, Jennifer and everyone else who made this possible. Links grill was awsome and the facilities for golf and tennis were GREAT! I just have good things to share with friends and family about this experience.
