    ... old school style with cardboard, pens and their thumbs!) Got a couple of bits planned with them over next couple of days before I leave to go to my aunt's.

    Today I headed to Eden Park for a little tour. Only costs a few dollars so was money well spent to see where England are playing the All Blacks in a couple of weeks.

    Historically, North Head as well as Mt. Victoria have a number of artillery emplacements and various concrete bunkers.

    Besides listening to various interesting stories from Devenport´s history we particularly enjoyed numerous great views we were offered during our tour. After all, the tour was worth it. Especially our driver/guide, Steve, did a great job!

    Stayed: my first night at Base Hostel (terrible!) then with CS Nolan at his dad's in mt. Eden (so nice!), then at Station Hostel (new with antiques & so comfortable -one of my fav backpackers), then wwoofed at the fruit van's homestead which is also Fat cats Backpackers.
    Knowledge gained:If you want to ensure that you're getting enough vegetables order the vegetarian dishes (veg breakfast is the best!) ...
