... the way down from the mountains. I thought " Yaa, these little tunnels...piece of cake, no problem bru"
The results: Stef was positively surprised after the first tunnel, I was blown away from the dust, the cars and the volume levels a normal car can produce in a tunnel. It's LOUD, and there is less air going through then through a chain smokers lungs!
But I also had my Yippieeh moment. In the last tunnel ...

... this, 2 days before we leave, its absolutely pouring with rain. We will be cycling to london, where rain is pretty much a given. All this in a tent. Like I said, this was a great idea in the summer. But it will be done. Bikes have been packed, return flights have been booked, and I refuse to be outdone by mom and dad in record km on ...

... 3rd October. Train travel is free with a special pass. I noticed Chris didn't give out the tickets until this morning.....just in case. St Moritz is at 1775 MASL and we are off to Alp Grum at 2091 metres and a 50 minute ride. The trains are fantastic in Switzerland.......clean and always on time with huge windows to view the passing scenery a part of the UNESCO world heritage site. A quick turnaround as it was cold and rainy, back in the train to Pontreschino, a bus to Punta ...

... br> motorcycles came storming passed me like it was a grand prix circuit.

        Finally
I arrived into the town of Passo De Tonale and just kept going. This journey
certainly seemed to be taking forever but there was still one big challenge
that lay ahead and that was to get over the wonderful Gavia pass.

        As
I said earlier I have tried on a number of occasions to get over this pass and
it has always been closed so lets hope its open today.

... train in the middle of nowhere. We were determined to make it to the Diavolezza on our last day in Switzerland so we were back on the train to the Diavolezza stop. From there, at 2000 m of elevation, a large cable car slowly crawls up to 3000 metres to an amazing view of the Diavolezza mountain area, overlooking the Bernina massifglacier. That day, joining us in our cable car was a large group of senior men dressed ...
