The hotel looks old and rickety from outside so I stop there, thinking a cheap,character place is in order.

We wanted to do a few more locks to leave Hemel so we took the boats into Fisheries Lock, and started to fill it. In the pound above, a recently burnt out wooden boat came to the surface and was sucked down onto the lock blocking our exit. With a old piece of rope and a boat hook Henry and James managed to move it off to one side and tie it up clear of the lock.
