Here we are at this RV park that is so far the worst one on this trip. Good thing we are just stopping for the night and it is not very expensive.
Today's travels went well except it was pretty windy all the way. I guess that is what Kansas is noted for, WIND!
I think my driver is getting a cold, poor guy. Nothing much to say as this is another travel day.

Continuing on the back country roads we crossed over into Kansas. Both Todd and I have already been in this state, but we've never seen this area of the state. There are lots of rolling tumble weeds and they get caught in the roadside fencing.
If land isn't designated for crops, then it is for cattle. Along the route we saw many large cattle farms with many hundreds, up to thousands of head of cows in pens. And I think we all know what future ...
Our route now turns northeast as we head into the Oklahoma panhandle to check off another state - number 10! This part of the state is more of the same looking farmland that we've seen so much of on this trip. It's "more of nothing," as Todd says -- flat, dusty, crop-harvested land, with each property being a few miles square! Yes, each field is absolutely HUGE! There are sporadic herds of cattle in some of the fields and they have LOTS of room to ...
So after little sleep on our overnight train we arrived in Dodge City around 5.30am. We got kicked out of the station and got a taxi to the hotel. The guy was not overly impressed at being woken up to let us in. We dumped our stuff and found somewhere to eat some breakfast.
We decided a nap would do us good as we definately had a few big days with not much sleep. So we slept for a bit, got up and headed into town. We had a nice walk into town checked out the Boot Hill ...

I was able to get my picture next to the sign and that was the main thing I wanted to do. After further researching Oklahoma, there are several things I would be interested in doing if I ever get the chance to pass through again. (4-wheeling in Little Sahara, for example) But again, this was more or less just so ...
