... arriving here was turning up at an old friends, we were made to feel so welcome and at home and we were chatting like long lost friends in no time. We were visiting Susan mid-week so she was out at work and was kind enough to give us free reign of her beautiful house so that we could spread out our maps and get planning. ... today is a lovely home overlooking green fields with sheep and cows some fifteen minutes from the city centre.

We are just five minutes from New Zealand's largest shopping mall, (The Base). This evening we visit it. Of course all the shops have closed by 5:00pm, but the restaurants stay open. Miryam orders a magnificent fish and chips and I enjoy a sinful “lamb-burger” with chips.
