... buckets of questionable thai whiskey dancing to crazy house/dance music on the beach.
At the same time there was a festival where the Thais send out these little rafts made out of banana leaves and flowers into the sea to thank the sea gods for life. We picked one up and sent it out while drunken men pee'd into the ocean all around us. It was a funny experience.
The next morning we checked out the beach and hundreds of people were still partying from teh night before.
After ...
Ko Phangan, Thailand seasiamonkeyfun... we made our way to a circuit of caves. Divers that have mastered their buoyancy can use their breathing and body to navigate through the caves without hitting their tank or body on the ground, cave, or coral. The caves provided a great deal of entertainment for us all, although they lacked a significant amount of fish or coral. We made our way under and through massive underwater stones, taking pictures along the way. At one point we reached an clearing surrounded ...
Koh Tao, Thailand seasiabound... barely see the road. So by the time we made it back my leg that was bad was now the ugliest thing on the entire island, added to it was two more giant bruises plus about a dozen cuts all over my calf.
The beach we went to was gorgeous though. It was more of a resort beach and much quieter and cleaner than Haad Rinn where we were staying. We had a great time hanging out there and playing with the resort dogs who tried to dig holes underneath where we were sitting which was ...
Ko Pha Ngan, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Thailand laurahenne... br>We've been debating what to do next from here, whether or not to move on to another island or go explore somewhere completely different. We looked into doing a trip to see James Bond island (where The Man with The Golden Gun was filmed) but it seems to expensive for just a day trip. So we came to the decision to stay where we are for another 3 nights even after todays little annoyances we still really like this place and still want to see some more fishes.

Gaz & LJ
Ko Tao, Thailand gaz-ljThere was a big geko in our room in the morning. We got a cab early to the port and bought tickets just in time for the early boat. We ran and caught the boat and it was packed, the only seats free were upstairs with no roof. The sea spray quickly made everyone on the top deck crowd in the only sheltered area. After the boat we got a minibus to the accomodation area of the island. We met an Irish guy called Tom on the minibus. We got off the minibus with him as we thought everyone was ...
Ko Phangan, Surat Thani, Thailand kieran_stuart... bay and we felt very relxed and at home which was great after a few weeks of fast-paced travelling.

We went Scuba diving whilst we were on the island at Sail Rock. There was a small chance that we could see whale sharks but unfortunately we were not so lucky but the dive was amazing with beautiful coral, some unusual fish including a blue spotted ray, and we went the deepest we have yet.

We also tried wake boarding (WakeUpWakeboarding) whilst on the island ...

Ko Tao, Thailand ruthwalker... rolling true on the surface. About 1 foot behind the pins sat a man whose job it was to put the pins up once we had smashed them down (of course). He was a brave man, we nearly broke his shins a couple times! Afterwards we headed to one of the bars on the beach where there was a fire dancer....so cool!

The following day was spent worshipping the sun on Aew Leuk beach. The rest of the gang went snorkelling but i still had to stay out of the water, so i ...

ko tao, Thailand nealinthailand... Pete had written "Ads is Gay" in the sand). Then the rain began. We stopped at another bar on the beach just to have some cover, and played some pool. During a break we made it back to our place, just in time because as we stepped in the door of our rooms it threw it down. [Anyone who has been to Thailand or any other monsoon affected country can vouch for this - the rain is ****ing incredible. The phrase 'the skies opened' does not do it justice.]

I was sitting ...
