On Monday, June 15th we left the Verde Valley through the Cocohino National Forest traveling along 260 E and 87 N to Winslow along I-40. As we left the Cottonwood area we kept climbing and then looked out the window and saw flat terrain. Suddenly, we headed down, down, down rather quickly, then back up to 8000 foot elevation again. To keep things interesting and doable, we try to break up long drives with sufficient stops. Today, we had another long day.
