... were unable to find, either their location marked incorrectly or they have been demolished since the information was published. We stopped for lunch at 12:30 at a place called Blakes Lotaburger. More road food hamburgers. They were so-so. We continued on and passed Maccas and KFC - so not a lot of choice really. We then took a 20 mile diversion off-route near Grant to the Bandera Volcano and ice cave. We slathered up in sunscreen for the walking in 30 degree ...

Tomorrow, it's off to Flagstaff where we spend a couple of nights.

The chicken is moist and tender and not as fatty as KFC. We get corn on the cob, biscuits (scones), Cajun fries and drinks. All for nix! They have shut the restaurant now to regroup but we are welcome to stay . It's our own private restaurant and everyone is still so attentive. On leaving we ...

... Flagstaff we drove along part of what was historic Route 66. Over today and tomorrow we will be covering much of the route of the Mother Road between here and Albuquerque. Much of the route, especially through the desert areas between towns has been replaced by I-40. But it is still evident in the towns mentioned in the song like Winona (AZ) and Gallup (NM), plus the big cities. From Flagstaff we headed east on I-40 where we saw ...
