The wonderful holiday begins. Bus trip to Melbourne flight to Sydney. What a surprise to see Adrienne White checking our Boarding passes, then looked after us all on the flight. Overnight stay at Mercure Hotel. A short walk for dinner at the St George Rowing Club. Gave us both an opportunity to ring Catherine..congrats for a special birthday. …
Think I drove the wrong way down a one way street in Vatcouver shortly after getting the car. Interesting for all those involved! Got to Whistler safely afer an interesting drive up the highway. Very hot here but it's not going to last.
Bought a picnic lunch in Squamish which we ate beside Alice Lake, beautiful.
... came back to to the hotel to watch some Le Tour.
We are keen to do some down hill riding tomorrow so will book some bikes in the morning and go ride the terrain park. Hopefully our weary bodies will cope with that but it's the best place in the world to try so it will be silly not to. Most BC racers who are staying on in town will be doing the same thing - riding a bike that's supposed to go down hill rather than across it :) ...
... and Gas conference as well as at the Stampede. We are working in the Catering tents doing serving. The tents may change every day plus we get the opportunity to help set up and be paid for that also. We have to be there early for orientation so might as well get paid for it! With minimum wage and grad on the tents it works out that we get $15-$20 an hour and that's without any tips. So we might do ok at the end of the 2.5 weeks! The next day we were going to go for a hike but it was going to rain and probably wouldn't have been safe if we didn't have a dog with us as the mountain lions and bears etc on the hill. I think we just had another movie day. We went to a restaurant called Wings. Was the best thing I'd heard in my life. I love wings here. So they had 25 different flavours (I know now that's not heaps as Wild Wings opened up in the village and have over ...

A hugh very comfortable bed. Bathroom could have been a bit bigger otherwise perfect.
