    ... touch and go until a snarly Heathrow person refuses to let us through the transfer gates. She then sits at her station for over an hour picking her nails and twiddling her hair while we wait in a long Customer Service queue.

    But service is just a superficial term here... Having let more urgent cases go ahead of us, and with just three of us to deal with, BA Customer Non-Service announce they are closing and direct us to head ...

    Today seems to be a day of questions and decisions...

    Blue sky or grey? (Both.)
    Will it rain despite a forecast on my phone that says not? (It buckets down around 4pm.)
    Why is yesterday's 3.50 bus ticket 4.10 today? (No idea!)
    Lebara or Lyca for a SIM card for the iPad? (We find Lebara first.)
    Will it work in Greece as promised? (Who knows...)

    ... The final flight of an historic cold war supersonic British Vulcan bomber happened to occur during our lunch as the cherry on top.
    Our exploration of the palace grounds was heightened by the presence of the illustrator for 'The Gruffalo' book series. We were able to act the role of the privileged 18th century aristocracy, playing ring toss and lawn bowling, wandering the gardens, all with Gruffalo inspired activities for the kids interest.

    ... nice walk with great views at the top (I have gone all Roy Cropper whilst packing and I've included my walking boots....they will get used). With regards to packing it is what you'd expect, shorts, t shirts, flip flops. The only grey area has been the boring health related stuff such as Malaria Pills and mosquito nets, thankfully our Mums have taken on this aspect so we haven't had to worry ...

    ... t get much sleep! So today I'm doing last minute preps. Although this includes looking after my lovely little cousin who lives next door, we've just watched Scooby Doo 2! As he's the coolest kid in the world I'm actually very happy to be spending my last day in the UK with him!

    So tomorrow I'm flying from Manchester to New York JFK and then getting a bus into New York and then a bus to Pittsfield MA! Being in New York City on my own scares me a little, but hey, do ...
