Good Choice

We were looking for a hotel with interconnecting rooms for us and our two kids. This hotel had pretty good reviews so we decided to try it out and were glad we did.
We were familiar with the location having stayed at the Strand opposite in the past but decided we would like a pool and breakfast as well this time. We arrived late after a long flight and were checked in very efficiently by the helpful reception staff. Our request for interconnecting rooms on a high floor were met and we were not disappointed with the rooms which were clean, spacious and well equipped.
The swimming pool is located on the roof and affords good views over the surrounding area, although small it is adequate and clean and adjacent to the pool are self service laundry facilities including drier and ironing board with iron ( very handy when travelling with small children ).
I was pleasantly surprised with the buffet breakfast which catered for all nationalities and the staff were great with our children. All in all a very pleasant experience and we will stay there again when we visit Singapore.

I stayed 7 days in this fine hotel.
I arrived early ,very tired from my flight and they kindly quickly checked me in.
The room i was allocated into was quite spacious, bright, very clean and up to date furnished, hence a safe, air conditionning free access to internet, minibar, telephone.
I even found out that they have a swimming pool on free access on the top floor with a view on the city.

The buffet breakfast offers lots of different food to sample from.
Staff was friendly and polite.
this hotel is situated on the bottom of Orchard road and walking distance to metro DOBY GHAUT which will lead you quickly in the city centre.
All in all a nice hotel to recommend.
i will definitely stay again.

Outstandingly clean

I stayed there this summer and was EXTREMELY impressed with it.
Room was extremely well-kept and clean and smelled
fresh.
Seemed very modern and bright. Bathroom superb and bed very comfortable. TV channels good, especially the Australian one!
Staff friendly.
Good location - nice walk to MRT station and next to 'eaterie'.
Breakfast nice but lacked variety a bit.
Overall excellent value for money - would like to stay there again!
Great value & location. Convenient to all areas.

OK, first thing to keep in mind is that this is not a 5 star hotel. Probably 2.5-3 stars. For this and the great price, I think the Bayview is great. We stay here whenever we visit Singapore.
The rooms are on the small side but very clean and well-kept.
Room and bathroom facilities are the usual. Breakfast is standard for this level of hotel.
Staff is friendly. We have children and the staff are very accommodating.
Best thing is the value for money. Having stayed in many Singaporean hotels, I think the price and value is great.

Stayed 2 nights at the City Bayview. Staff were very friendly and efficient. There was a problem with the key card access system for a day. Whenever you came back to the hotel, an employee would have to go with you to open the door, surprisingly, this went well with no delay. My room was clean, but there was construction next door and there was loud construction noise from morning until evening. One thing that the room did not have is a clock. This was quite annoying as I did not know what time it was. I think a hotel of this level should have an alarm clock. The breakfast was so so. I got there at 9:45 and many items were gone and they didn't seem to be replacing them. On the positive side, the location is quite good and the price was excellent.

Your Singapore hotel was great, clean, friendly staff.
There was one exception, a manager. I don't have his name, chinese, tall with glasses. He was awful and does not belong in the hospitality industry in my view. Whenever he was around the staff went rigid. I met him in the lift one morning and said 'good morning!'. He could barely choke out some mumble. Better he had ignored us.
Unless the miserable cretin has shares in the Bayview group, I'd suggest a long walk /short pier scenario.
Otherwise, no complaints, great staff, clean, b'fast excellent.

The rooms are nice and confortable whith a big windows. Toilettes are big and very clean. The breakfast well assorted. Great area with a lot of cheap bars and restaurants, and near to Rochard Road and Little India. The Staff was very helpfull, only in the reception they were little bit impolite (but it's a usual mood in Singapore). Any noise from the neighbor room are very hearable because some acomodations are connected with a door. I recommend to make a reservation bevore, because it could be all booked. Excellent hotel for the value!!!..I will try again :)))

The City Bayview is an exceptional hotel for the price. The lobby area has a highly buffed terrazzo floor with a compass rose motif-really quite striking. The staff are efficient and courteous; check-in required less than five minutes and check-out less than a minute. My room and bath were extremely clean and decorated in a Nordic-modern motif. My ninth floor room included a safe, mini refrigerator, coffee maker, smallish TV and a hair dryer.
The rate included a buffet breakfast each morning. The food quality and service were quite good. However the buffet included Japanese, Chinese, Malay and Western cuisines so that the variety for each cuisine was a little limited. By day five I was growing a little tired of the fare.
The location of the hotel is outstanding. Walking distance, it is 15 minutes from the Orchard Road area, 10 minutes from Little India and 20 minutes from downtown. Further it is two blocks from the Dhoby Ghaut subway interchance.
I highly recommend the City Bayview Hotel and will stay there again next time I visit Singapore.
Fairly good hotel and convenient location

I would recommend this hotel for its convenient location. Its 10 min away by cab to Orchard Road and well as the Marina Bay area. The rooms are good, not very large but clean. All rooms have tea/coffee making facilities.
I would rate the daily breakfast a 5.5 on 10. I stayed here for 6 days and the menu was more or less the same each day. A bit of variety would have been good.
The front office staff is helpful, especially the younger staff. The 2 older staff are a bit curt and intimidating!
Over all an okay place to stay if you plan on walking around to all the sights.

For the price, location and the service, great rooms & showers - some with Bath, this hotel is great! Clean and nice, centrally located, nice roof top pool that is rarely used. I loved it. The rate is great, the staff try very hard to accomodate you and check you in early if possible. Rooms are kept clean, taxi stand and bus outside and a walk and metro ride to everything great about Singapore!!!!! I will be BACK!
