... after the Mexican-American War (1846-48) it was rebuilt twice (beside the previous locations) and decommissioned in 1891. It was an outpost on the Santa Fe Trail and was to provide protection from Indian raids for settlers moving west. However, the train west was completed at about the same time and it was found that the army had mistakenly built it on private land. Thus ended its less than illustrious career. ... of the corridor opening their door when I got back to my room. I then read in the paper that the tornado ally was now twice it's size and Dodge is right in there.Didn't sleep that well and woke at 2.30am and up at 3.30am for a shower. The cab driver advised me to ring Amtrak at 4am to make sure it was on time which I did and it was. I rang him and he come around and dropped me off at the station.Have fun, because you know I will be.Tone ...
