      ... this year which daughter Chantalle arranged for me was excellent in helping me get the basics right and practice here is constantly improving my technique. Helen reckons I'm skiing particularly well considering my years, and it's true I can't say I've seen anyone else of my age on the slopes (maybe because they're more risk averse!).

      ... and Ian (Australian & English) and Suanne and Lance (USA & English). Debbie and Suzanne seemed determined to dance me off my feet and I loved it. Of course I stopped for some reflection on past NYEs, but the pace was such that I didn't have much of an opportunity. The night went so fast it was midnight and then 2.00 am seemingly in a flash. When we left the party was still in full swing and apparently went on until daylight.

      ... ski buses to and from parking areas to the other main ski areas. It is very well organised and very reasonably priced.

      On our way back we deviated up to the top of the mountain which towers over Talloires, my hotel's village to view some unbelievably beautiful white and frozen countryside.

      John and Helen continued their wonderful hospitality with dinner in their apartment accompanied by some excellent local wines.

      ... and with 11ks left, we hit Quintal. And then it went up, and it wasn't just a little up, but a steep up !!! And this being a closed road, the locals were out in force, screaming, "allez les filles, allez les filles", and with this, Lucy took off, and all I could think was, shut the **** up, slow the **** down !!!
