... I feel wrecked. Someone might as well finish off the job and give me a pounding with a rubber mallet. Nevertheless, I'm a runner because it makes me feel good, better than any happy pill. Just pulling on my running vest and lacing up my Nike's first thing in the morning is worth getting out of bed for, and the high I get after a good workout will last the whole day. That is why I loved this holiday. Cheaper running ...

Some technical stuff about eccentric muscle contractions, but mostly practicing good technique such as running off the balls of your feet, using your arms and upper body to help power yourself up the hill, smaller steps, lift the knees higher, keep the body straight, tilting forward slightly, etc. so, this was a practice session rather than a hard workout, phew. The other trainer - Steph Lightfoot - gave us a similar ...

Day 1

Up 5 AM to finish off my packing and gather my essentials - Garmin, iPad, iPhone, Kindle & Travel Insurance and headed off to Luton Airport where I enjoyed what will probably be my last Starbucks for a week. Good flight to Geneva followed by one hour transfer to our chalet in Annecy. Going on holiday introduces a number of risks, and that's why we buy travel insurance (unless your bank has conned you into paying a monthly fee in exchange ...
