Friday was Olivia's last day in our little (emphasise little!) cabin, as she is off to spend a week with friends in Lyon. We decided the best option was to drive to Annecy, have lunch there, and a general wander around, with Olivia catching the 4 o'clock train to Lyon.

Although the day started slightly dull, by the time we reached Annecy the sun was out - albeit a little hazy at times. We parked at the station (which is VERY visible in the centre of the ...

This Saturday I spent the day in a beautiful mountain town towards Switzerland. It's not a very big town so there wasn't much to do for more than a day but it was a great day trip! We left Lyon at 7am, got there at 9am and then left around 6:30pm.

We started the day looking at the lake which is surrounded by mountains. It was so pretty and the water was so clear you could see all ...

... Another guy from our group joined us there and we relaxed for a bit until I was given and took a birthday shot while chatting with my friends and the bartender. About 12:30 Nicole and I left the bar so we could catch the first night bus home, I got home at 1:30, finished packing for the day in Chambery and went to bed.

Saturday, I got up at 5:30 so I could get to my train on time. It took 45 minutes to get to ...

... the two days we were there and little villages within the town. Unfortunately the two castles are closed over winter :( We also came upon a hotel in the town which looks exactly like the Grand Budapest from Wes Anderson's movie. Being in Annecy felt like I was in a Disney movie of sorts. I hope I can go back one day in the summer because I can only imagine how fun it would be, but definitely glad I got to see this beautiful town over the winter in all it's wonderland magic.

... Our villa is located in a small village called Promery about five kilometres out of Annecy. From our dining area we have views of the mountain around Annecy and overlooking the town. The villa has three bedrooms, two bathrooms a back garden with a webber out the back.
We have spent two days exploring Annecy....what a beautiful place. The lake is a brilliant aqua colour, crystal clear and a haven for water enthusiasts. We ...
