Annual visit to Palm Desert, CA. Our 8th or 9th trip. The last 3 have been two week trips. After a 2 1/2 hour ride we arrived at Shadow Ridge for our two week stay. We were given our first choice of accommodations. Top floor building 2700 with a view of the 16th hole. We ate dinner at SiBon's a favorite restaurant we discovered last year. Belgium with a California twist. I had Stuffed Filet of Sole and David had Veinitzel They were both excellent as ...

We are off to Las Vegas tomorrow, or "we are going to Vegas baby" as we have taught Dylan ...

... the middle of the desert so was in the high 80s to 90s. Our days there were lazy and relaxing. We caught up on the films at the cinema we've been too busy to see lately. We saw Cloud Atlas (good), Alex Cross (not as good as the hype suggests but still watchable), 7 Psychopaths (so funny) and the Man With the Iron Fists (good). We hung out by the pool, which we had all to ourselves, probably because the water was pretty cold! There was a hot tub there as well so we ...

... we drank beer with our neighbours until the wee hours. We went to bed in our little tent hoping for a nice sleep...... SJ woke up in a right mood at about 6.30am to the sound of dance music and with the hot desert sun beating down on the tent which made it feel like a sauna. We crawled out the tent bleary eyed and dazed and sat in our camp chairs drinking water and thinking what the f**k have we come to! The cool kids were already up in their bikinis ...
