In the recovery room you lie down on an adjustable lawn-like chair, on a good, soft mattress with only a sheet to cover you. Nearby there is a diorama of a desert in a low-light setting: yucca, saguaro cacti and a perpetual stream of water all intended on their own to aid in relaxation. Falling asleep is common. But alas, not today.

More than half the passengers - and the Cabin Crew - would have been over 60 (I was sitting in front of a lady called Sweet Pea), and they encouraged everyone to keep the window shades closed to cool the aeroplane! We stayed ahead of the group for 25 miles but exited towards Hemet, CA where the offramp crosses over this freeway.
