... boxing in Thailand ( I saw an exhibition match at a Thai food festival in Battersea Park). The Bangkok venue is the size of Wembley arena and takes at least an hour to return from - a bit like seeing a west end show while living in Stoketonia. Hua Hin stadium was much more intimate. We shared a table with 3 guys from Calgary ...
Hua Hin, Thailand valetroy... 28). In other news: -Charlotte my roommate got a tattoo a few days ago. It's her name, written in Thai, on her lower back. It was only a few hundred baht and only took 20 minutes to do. Yes it is pretty, no I am not tempted. -Charlotte actually leaves today, and then I'll get two new Dutch girl roommates on Sunday. By the time I leave myself, I'll have gone through 5 roommates. -ALSO, good news--Liz and I decided to travel together to the islands when we leave the ...
Phetchaburi, Thailand ktmcq143... plan was to get massages and then dinner at the Western style restaurant. The massage was decent- very similar to what I had received in Bangkok- but the dinner was just horrendous. I was soooo looking forward to it, but the service was disappointing (it took us over an hour to get our food, even though there was only one other party in the whole entire restaurant)... and then they still got my order wrong ...
Phetchaburi, Thailand ktmcq143... either jump at you and howl and shake the bars... or they'll quick shoot down to the ground, near your leg, and stick their food out and trip you, as I saw happen to one boy. They're mischevious but also sometimes just bored, even though another duty is to make up enrichments to entertain them. Still, something slightly weird has been going on since I got here... one day, 1 macaque escaped. It ran back into its cage when ...
Phetchaburi, Thailand ktmcq143... The next day we went to the huge, I mean huge out/indoor(covered with tin and sheets) market. There was absolutely everything there. Animals, clothes, decorations, food, I bet I could of even bought a child there if I wanted. Ok not funny, sorry. That is actually a serious thing we are talking about in my Human Rights class. Well after a very very sweaty day we all caught a bus back to Hua-Hin, VIP. Never thought I'd like my leaky shower and old bed at VIP but it felt ...
Cha-am, Thailand generaljI arrived in Bangkok after enjoying another poor display of hospitality from Scandinavian Airlines and after having had to move from my seat every hour to let a large French biker empty his bladder. I caught a taxi straight to the southern terminal - after finally finding someone who didn't try to totally rip me off. Bangkok airport has a public taxi meter stand, although this does not stop hoardes of ...
Cha-am, Thailand paul.hortonwhile at sawang the other day, i tried to jump down a hillside like a spring chicken and learned that i was no longer a spring chicken but a stupid old **** with a pulled or, god forbid, ripped calf muscle. it could have been worse i suppose but i am not very ambulatory in my current condition. i went to palm hills anyway because the weather was right. i played holes 1 through 9 and scored bogie, par, birdie followed by bogie par bogie, and finally, par, par, bogie for a ...

Khao yoi, Thailand soidog... we find that the same regime in Thailand was seen as a failed and illegitimate government on one side of the Atlantic and as the light of freedom and democracy on the other. Regime change in this case was a welcome relief in Thailand and well understood in Leeds, but grossly misinterpreted in Washington DC. Soidog PS: The author in Leeds to whom I refer is Duncan McCargo
Cha-am, Thailand soidog... the end, I got tired, indeed it is a grand palace. Everybody now wants to leave after getting a bit dehydrated. Everyone is clamoring for the beach......where's the beach? And off we go! We reached Cha-am just before dark then had our sidewalk dinner at Hua Hin. Cha-am and Hua Hin beaches are more known as the twin beach resorts because of a very long stretch of golden fine sand. We headed back to our resort and called it a day, a very tiring day.
