Dag 1: Brussel - Hanoi Vandaag is het zover, de dag waar we al zolang naar uitkijken is eindelijk aangebroken. We 'trundled down past Maastricht towards Germany. The deviations were big ones but we still were able to make good time! The scenery was worth the deviations though. We past by some wonderful little towns and river gorges. Very nice bit of countryside. Will have to return there sometime, God willing!

... train station. So when I got off at Hasselt station, I walked up the road looking for an ATM as I had precisely ONE euro cent in my wallet. I couldn't find one and eventually did what I should have done to begin with, asked the taxi driver to take me past an ATM. Dit is de start van een nieuw leven! Een jaar lang weg uit de omgeving die voor mij gedurende 18 jaar zo bekend is geworden. Die bekende omgeving ga ik nu verlaten en ga nieuwe horizonten opzoeken. Hij heeft de hele organisatie gedaan en onze avonturen in twee talen op travelpod gezet zodat ook de thuisblijvers onze reis konden volgen. Hij heeft de volledige 4800 km met de wagen gereden en heeft zelfs mijn muziek en "gezaag" moeten aanhoren. Voor mij is er geen twijfel : hij verdient de nobelprijs !
