... road again, heading for Dumaguette. I made it as far as Iloilo, capital of Panay. I got a room in an actual hotel. The formality feels odd after hostels and guesthouses. I had a strange meal in an American style diner last night. Quite surreal, and the weirdest tasting burger I think I have ever had. I think I'll stick with Filipino food. Myself and the other nurse (Izzy) were having many discussions including what we wanted to name our future children (as woman do) and we discussed her loving of the name Lettice (pronounced lettuce, like the salad...) as there was a woman on Britain's got talent with the name and Izzy fell in love with it!! From this, we decided our baby, who's name we didn't know (as we are not really told anything like this) ...

... tonight – accommodation will be the toughest thing to manage in this country im guessing.

After dark the security guards carry big guns and are roaming everywhere. Makes me nervous! Still trying to gauge the country and its risks etc. Im too overwhelmed to do too any tourist activities in the city. The first nights hassles left me lacking confidence to find my way around this sprawling port city and between people who give well meaning but ...
