... as I crossed the bridge there was a beggar guy trying to get the locks off the railings that people have taken to putting on bridges to signify their love. At first I though I should beat him about the head with my iPad but instead I stopped and took the lock off of my rucksack and gave him it. ... still raining. We tanked up again just short of the M1 and decided to finish off that way, just to get it over and done with.

Kicking off day from Hucknall. 200+ mile jaunt down to Portsmouth. Kawasaki have clearly modelled that bike seat from a Guiness beer crate, don't fancy that at all.

This weekend the last flying Vulcan has done a two day goodbye flight all over Britain as its flying licence expires at the end of this month and won't be renewed ( it costs £18,000 per hour to fly, and they have to bring people out of retirement to do the maintenance).
