Took the drive to Fish Creek Falls and did a short walk to a great view. There was a path leading down to the bottom of the falls but using good sense we passed and just enjoyed the view from topside. A lot of water was flowing over the falls. Very lovely spot right in town. We then drove around the Steamboat area and saw many huge homes- some for sale but we're not interested. Sally saw more ...
... Prepping to Ride video, note that the cowboy doesn't even get out of the gate until 1:10 and he stays on for approximately one second. However, Magic Swing, the bull featured in the video, is quite the athlete and threw everybody who attempted to ride him.
This is our last entry. Thank you so much for coming along with us. We have had a blast and our getting ready to fly out in a few hours, so home, here we come!!

From start to finish we put over 3,000 miles on the Subaru (Little Sue) and every one of those was well worth it. This was an unforgettable American road trip that I highly recommend everyone take at least once in their lives.

Overall it was a great vacation that ended too quickly. I am heading back to Austin tomorrow, and Kelly is staying 2 more days. We had such a great time skiing together, with the added bonus of seeing nephew Chance! At first we were not sure about Steamboat Springs, but it grew on us ...
... out the streams and Stillwater Reservoirs that we had learned about yesterday. We drove from the campground through the town of Yampa and up into the Routt National Forest – a short trip of about 15 miles. There is a series of lakes that are for irrigation in the area and the Yampa & Bear rivers connect them. The lakes were full and the streams were running high, even below the outlets. Back off the main road by the river. Quiet clean rooms. Close to ski area and shopping malls. About 8 mins to town centre.
