... 10 miles long and a mile wide near the centre. A cruise on one of the many boats docked at the village pier was a welcome and relaxing break from the bike and we were able to view the many beautifully restored hotels and expensive homes that bordered the Lake. Good weather was still with us so it was great just to get out and walk around. We visited the Botanic Gardens and walked down Byres Road near the university. There were lots of students around there and in the area near our B and B which gave the areas a youthful "vibe".
An interesting and eclectic city.. definitely worth the visit..
