    Peaceful Party

A travel blog entry by ashlyn_rebekah on Oct 02, 2014

It was an early morning this morning, walking down to the pier to find our 7.10am Amtrak bus. We took the bus to the Emeryville, and then boarded an Amtrak train to Sacramento, followed by another bus to the area of South Lake Tahoe. Fun fact about Lake Tahoe - it's basically split down the middle via the state lanes of California and Nevada (we …

The main thing we were here to see was the capital building and I don't really think there is anything else to see here outside of that. We got a few pictures of ...

Dropped down to Sacramento Valley, miles, and miles and miles and miles and miles of flat featureless plains.

Across the Sierra Nevada mountain range and over a scary, scary roads into a pitch black Lake Tahoe which didn't help us finding our hotel!!!!
    However when we ...

We drove to Carson City and then on to Virginia City for breakfast at Sawdust Corners. Virginia City is an old west town complete with saloons and other typical places. Then it was on to Fallon, NV where it was 90 degrees. This city was nicknamed the "Oasis of Nevada" which leads one to wonder what kind of landscape and scenery lies ahead of us as we move eastward across the state on the "Loneliest Highway in America" (Hwy ...
