... new every day. We finally drove into San Francisco, where we were able to take in a dazzling sunset while on the interstate and then made it to the hotel. We stayed in the Hampton Inn in South San Francisco and they have a very nice facility. I honestly think any place that had a bed would have worked, but they had a very comfortable leather chair for Grandpa with ottoman, and a comfy bed for me. Still, didn't sleep ...
... movies. Their form of entertainment was trying to avoid getting scurvy. For them, a good travel day was covering 30 miles and not having to kill the ox. For us, a good travel day is one with no flight delays and scoring an extra bag of pretzel mix with our beverage service. They were a sturdy lot. I could have been a pioneer. Just so long as there were Marriott Hotels along the way. I would have even settled for limited service.
