After another tasty cold breakfast, we packed up to leave. Jerry was still not feeling well, so tried to nap while I went out to get genuine cashmere street scarves for stocking and christmas swap gifts. Another grey cold day but still in 40s! Today was in the 40s but still raw and chilly. We walked north today, up Madison and fifth avenue, stopping at a watch store and the Beretta store. We had a great lunch at Lavo on e58. Again, place was jammed with holiday parties but we sat in bar by front window so was great. Although above freezing, the day was grey, damp and threatening rain. After a nice breakfast in the small dining room ( pastries, fresh fruit), we bundled up and went to walk. ... much! The food was perfunctory steakhouse...nothing special compared to some other place we have been over the years! We quickly went back to room and to sleep. Room was nice...right on Madison with a little bump out with windows and small chair and couch. Nice amenities. We didn't use the roof garden but peeking in, it looked charming!
