... as we were driving all the way down to Coffee Bay the next day which we were told could be a 15 hour drive.

The morning we left the Amphitheatre backpackers we met Good Man (the singer from the night before) in the bathroom where he borrowed some toothpaste to brush his teeth before he was off for another gig. He was so sweet and we talked about how much we enjoyed his music the night before (he was really very talented). We then met him as we were driving ...

We left the guest house just after 9am. The drive was scenic. We stopped at Pangola to buy a few more groceries. We arrived at Ithala Game Reserve at about midday. This game reserve seemed hilly and very dry to me. This was a Big Five reserve, ...

Day 6 St Lucia to Drakensberg

Monday 8 September we departed 7.30am and headed towards the Drakensberg Mountains via the East Coast, travelling through Durban, the second largest city in South Africa with three million people. It was noted that half a million Zulus still live traditionally. As we were driving through Durban our guide said 'we will turn left here at the robots' – what robots we asked?? ...
