Tonight, for dinner, Rob and I shared what is on the menu as “a game feast” for two. It included grouse, pheasant, and game dumpling which is the taste sensation of sweetmeats and offal of game birds melded together with different savory vegetables.

Grouse tasted like a richer version of chicken. The dumpling was delicious, rich, flavorful. The pheasant (not peasant!) tasted ...

Oh, and we are booked at the Twice Brewed Inn - a little pub/brewery with rooms above it in a town called Once Brewed. Sounds LOW-vah-lee. Stats: ~17 miles today, making 35 total and ~ 55 more to ...

We have had a really great time in Edinburgh but alas, today it has come to an end. Unfortunately that also meant that we now had to carry everything down eight flights of stairs. Lucky I always take the longest to get ready in the morning, so by the time I was ready to help it was pretty much all done, hehe. We hit the road, driving the scenic route to Newcastle and having a last look at the British countryside. As usual, beautiful! When we got ...
