... swimming... except there are jellyfishies everywhere, in the water and washed up on shore. Not very inviting nor comforting. There is one really annoying drawback to this place: there is a vendor every 30 seconds offering their goods, selling everything from counterfeit Izod polo shirts to cigarette lighters to silk bedspreads.

We were very far from the town of Hua Hin itself so there isn't much of a choice for dining ...
Hua Hin, Thailand bebabui... of stuff was Xian in China about 7 weeks earlier. Anyway, before changing to another clean and fast minivan at the bus station, I was again amazed when I went to get some snacks in a 7-eleven and realized that I’ve just withdrawn my first Thai money so the smallest note I have is 1000 baht (about 20€) while the water bottle and tuna sandwich cost only 37 baht together. In Nepal, the cashier would ask you for smaller money and be disappointed when you ...
Hua Hin, Thailand aerotrevelYesterday we negotiated Bangkok public transportation and found our way to Hua Hin via a 3.5 hour "air conditioned" bus ride. We're trying to meet up with our friend Dawn, but so far no luck.

Last night we went to the night market and went wild; I'm going to have a hard time not bringing all of Thailand home with me in my ...
Hua Hin, Thailand jenandjdThe beauty of Hua Hin is unique to it's nature. The air is filled with
the beach town vibe while containing all the comforts of a city. This
beach town has not lost it's good old rule generosity and hospitality
due to mass influx of tourism. Many other cities have been culturally
dominated by the ways of the west. For example in Koh Samet when
entering a store I would "wai" the shop keeper and he ...
Hua Hin, Thailand bronsenstoltz... is in full force, we've just been lounging around in the hotel watching the 2-3 channels that have english on them and did some laundry. Now i'm all caught up, we are going out for a bit tonight then we head back to Bangkok tomorrow morning. I think we are taking the train back up to bangkok, it is supposed to take longer but we feel a little more comfortable riding the train after our bus experience. Talk to you all again soon!
Hua Hin, Thailand bbart0012...
Hua Hin, Thailand norsu... a cart topped to the brim with ice and cooked on a red-hot barbecue in front of us. It was truly delicious and the nicest fish that I have tasted since Lee caught and cooked his in Oz. Eating outside also meant we could watch the night market unfold in front of us, which is always worth watching. Markets are such a big way of life over here, the Thai people must make a fortune from Tourists, the barganing and haggling is a spectacle in itself to watch. Once we were done with ...
Hua Hin, Thailand lisartw... some paperwork and signed a new two-year contract. then i gave them a bank draft for the rent and we bowed to each other a lot with palms held together. it's the custom here. this new contract is for the house next door to mine. i am renting it for three reasons. first and foremost i don't want neighbors of a certain ilk to move in there. once i had a neighbor who would idle his car for long periods of time and fill my house with exhaust. another ...
Cha-am, Thailand soidog... eating it...) -- essentially Spaghetti-o tomato sauce dumped on paneer -- not good. We wandered around w/empty bellies and growing dissatisfaction in our choice.... The next day, we rented a motorbike and drove out to Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park -- about an hour's ride from the city. Finally, some satisfaction! There were no crowds at the park, and it was gorgeous: towering limestone cliffs, craggy hills, and beautiful beaches (virtually deserted!). We enjoyed ...
Hua Hin, Thailand koppers... at t'nob on that elephant - better keep ya legs shut haw haw haw" "Shut yer face Tone, else a'll give thee a reyt good slappin" "What's up with that'n over thiyer, bluddy ell, its crappin itsen" "s'nuff **** to cover our garden innit?" etc etc The trip finished with some hand feeding of the elephants and great photo opportunities. We were fed coconut milk and fresh fruit (which lost some of its appeal when we saw that it was all crawling with flies). All in all, great value for ...
