I had received a notification a month or so back from the government travel advice saying there was some flooding but the alert had been removed ages ago and no one had said anything in Delhi when we told them we planned to come here.         ... paying guest was on August 17th. It was to hold five bedrooms; four on the main deck and one on the top deck.

        Now, I should take a little time to talk about the houseboats. Yes, it is true that they are floating. However, they are tightly moored to land and cannot move. Probably the only time they move is when they need to be towed to get some maintenance. Most of the houseboats have satellite dishes on them, so they cannot move at all to keep a signal.

        ... that we started asking for the "nearest guesthouse". Well, we eventually found one - it was about 1/2 km off the road - we has to drive right through the pastures to get there - no road, no path to the guesthouse. Crazy. Glad we were riding Enfields.
