      Departure Day

All packed and ready to go by 11.00 a still left a little late. No trouble on the roads and swift service for lunch in the pub so arrived in good time at the parking. Good service as usual and through check in without issue. No question about the skis, boots or hand bags. Bumped into Jim Humphries in the check in queue, pleased they are not headed to our resort - the sauna could have been ...

... just like Rachel actually, and she just finished her psychology degree. It's quite uncanny. She said that she was going to go on this night tour called Bizarre Bath, and since it was pretty cheap I asked if I could tag along. I went and had my dinner, then we left to find the tour's meeting place. The tour, it turned out, was actually a comedy show. This guy in a purple jacket leads the group around, stopping at random places in the city and telling stories or jokes, or even ...

... path under a stone bridge or a steep pop up over a lock. It was a busy day on the canal so lots of passing folks and their dogs and my bell was nearly worn out by lunch time. Folks always make room for a mad pedalling Irishman looking as dusty as his bike. It does get tricky though, trying to pass by and to not clip one of the many pegs at the edge of the bank used to tie up the narrow boats. I kept my shoes out of the cleats most of ...
