... place. From Bibury we drove through Bourton on the water and on to Stow on the Wold. The area is lovely with beautiful views of the countryside We enjoyed the drive along the narrow lines, high hedges lined the road and the hedgerows were full of cow parsley and buttercups. After another great meal we enjoyed local cheeses with a slice of Mary's Bara Brith, we have really appreciated this generous hospitality but tomorrow we move ...

Today we went into Bath and although we had been here several times before it was still a pleasure to look around. We drove to the park and ride as usual which is very handy and then walked down to the shopping centre. Didn't buy much but had a nice lunch. There were several buskers and this statue figure had us baffled for a while. It was very cold today compared to our time ...

You ...

...and the reality of staying in our first 'proper' hostel. We arrived in Mission Beach and it felt like a sleepy town in the outback of America. There was not much there at all. In fact the only reason people really go there is to Sky Dive or White Water Rafting and considering I can't or did not fancy doing either life threatening activities, there was pretty much no reason for me being there. Whilst 3 of the girls went white water rafting (which they described was one of ...

    Bath, Stonehenge, and London Calling

... 90 mins to Stonehenge. We had to walk up a bit of a hill to get there. We had audio guides again, but I finally figured out that you can plug ear buds into them (otherwise you have to hold it up to your ear, which makes it hard to listen and take pics). The path takes you in a spiral around the monument so that you start out far away and gradually get closer. You can't actually get close to the stones anymore (not since 1978 - thanks audio guide) due ...
