An early start this morning and as usual we got an earlier train , which was boarding in 5 mins, so we arrived in Dover before we had left France.
The worst thing that struck us was the awful state of the English roads. The concrete M20 is diabolical. What on earth foreign visitors must think - its an awful welcome to the country.
The Spanish road system is superb and the French roads were all open in snow and ice.

... local communities. The Cambodia leg of the adventure was simply stunning and our experience of Angkor Wat unforgettable - the Amansara hotel in Siem Reap was one of the very best we have stayed in. To conclude this final chapter, I want to offer up some ...

Bryony dropped me at the airport at 8:45pm for me to meet up with the other Queensland guys. Only Col Cooke and Gill Chapman are there as Ross Chapman (no relation to Gill) is not coming now until the 12th as he has a seriously ill pet at home. Malaysian Airlines will carry 15kgs of cricket gear each as well as our 30kgs of luggage so having 45kgs of luggage each is fantastic.

... Montmartre and of course the Moulin Rouge. On our last night we went out for dinner and thought we'd better try a local delicacy, snails. We were pleasantly surprised they are actually quite nice! Aileen also tried a traditional French confit duck which was delicious!

Next we were onto Rome. I knew I was going to love it here - pizza and pasta, what's not to like?! There's also the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, the Vatican, St. ...

... that it would not involve lots of tinselly decorations and over-the-top jollification was a welcome one.
It was actually good to drive back to somewhere where I knew the route. One of the things I've found a bit tiresome on this journey is having to make long journeys over routes I don't know every couple of weeks. And it was great to come back. It was in some ways just as I remembered it, and in other ways it had changed with ...
