... gardens a lot of the way. We moored just past Sandiacre on the Monday and just past Cotmanhay on Tuesday. Arrived at the end of navigation, Langley Lock in Eastwood, and moored on the visitor mooring in the basin. The manager of the basin came and introduced himself and seemed a very friendly, helpful person. We plan to stay overnight and make our way back down the Erewash tomorrow.

    - We then went to Bingham, a little village 15 minutes outside of Nottingham and visited Cathy Downing (our neighbour in Nottingham in 1979/80). She lives in a lovely little home out there. It was great to see her and she was thrilled to catch up with us. She ...

... dinner we headed into a pub that was having Christmas carols but it was so busy and the carols were on break for 45mins so we headed home. The couple didn't sell Nottingham to us, making us think that we had made a mistake in booking for so long. Wednesday (18th) we headed into the city to meet up with Col Hoad's friend, Chris for coffee. He gave us an awesome tour of the town centre, filling us in on the town history and along the canal. Walked past the castle, statue ...
