We did take a little short cut on the way down which was obviously where the tea pickers go down, as the whole area is surrounded by tea, so we could at least be thankful we weren't one of them. It started near the racecourse which didn't look too bad. Apparently this is the only race course in Sri Lanka and holds just 3 meetings a year, could be fun to see sometime. I felt so homesick for a kitchen- I would LOVE to cook these days, there is so much cool stuff available in Sri Lanka.
We overate the delicious food, then just headed to bed!

After one drink there, we decided that it was about time to move on - hoping to find somewhere with a slightly nicer atmosphere. The locals bar had been fun, but I'm not sure how late I would have liked to have stayed there, as everyone was getting so wrecked that anything could happen later on.

... and shouts. We waved back and then took a few snaps. This kids must have been a Sri Lankan super hero as within seconds he was down from his vantage point and on the tracks pretty much next to us, I was in genuine shock!
