... have expected a tip too! :D A new way to subsidize my travels)

On the way down Yewande suggested we have a silence competition which Angela instantly lost, then started throwing rocks at me to break my silence so I would talk to her.
We remained silent until we reached a place for coffee, then went back to the guesthome for breakfast.
The rest of the afternoon was essentially just walking around town, looking for hippie pants, checking ...

... to see the 9 arch bridge - on foot. Along our way, we met a 19 year old lad who insisted that we went to his house to view the bridge. It was supposed to be the best view - and he was right. His house was simple - the walls looked like clay. It appeared to have a small kitchen (probably only 2 meters wide and 3 meters in length), two other small rooms of similar size and an open area in the middle with a table. We were offered tea ...

The train ride was great. the view of the country side is really remarkable. It's a ...

So the best thing I've learnt is ask the question twice and then decipher what he probably means. With this booked we went and explored the town and had some delicious Sri Lankan Kottus. Kate has been really keen to try the local massage treatment called Ayurveda, apparently the town held a few highly rated clinics. So ...

... I decided to take a tuktuk, knowing I had a long journey down to the coast and no real plan when I got there. 30mins in the tuktuk I made it to the bus and once on realised that actually I was retracing my tracks and ended up going THROUGH ELLA to then head down south - a completely illogical route geographically but I'm sure there was reason for it. So in the end a large round trip, but the train ride was well worth the extra time spend afterwards to see.
