          ... to the tour on the headphones, tolerating the poor English and irritating accents. It was interesting to learn though that the Souk Waqif had fallen into disuse in the late 1900s, it was rebuilt in 2008. In spite of this the buildings looked authentically old and that they had been there and in use “for ever”.

          ... part of town near the airport, the kind of place that looks a bit sinister late at night but is bustling and lively during the day.
