... Hotel, built back in 1887. It has the worlds largest porch and the only way to get inside is to be a registered guest or pay $10 a person. After six, men must be wear a coat and tie and woman must be in a dress. The cheapest room during the summer is over $600 per night!! Guess we won't be staying at the Grand.
This is a neat island with lots of tourists like us and a great way to spend a sunny day!
We had a wonderful ride over to St.Ignace on Friday. The campground is across the street from Lake Michigan which gives us a beautiful sunset. The campground and the town of St. Ignace is packed with people as they are having there 39th annual car show. There are almost 1000 hot rods etc..in town so things are hopping!! ...

The drive from Empire to St. Igance took longer than we'd planned. We arrived about 3:00 PM and set up tent and camp. There was a light rain on and off all day, so we decided to go to a movie across the Mackinaw Bridge (the longest suspended bridge in the US; 5 miles) to Mackinaw City and the Colonial Theater.

The rains cancelled our trip to Mackinac Island so we all (including Maggie) piled into the Superu and headed north to Sault (Soo) St. Marie. We watched a ship go thru the Soo Lock, Geocached and ate lunch at recommended “Antler’s” restaurant. Antler's had many

... called chicken spi-rolls ("tender all white chicken, smoky bacon, melted cheddar & mozzarella, spi-rolled up into our own homemade pizza crust. Served with creamy ranch for dipping.") dinner in between. It is no wonder they have been in business 26 years, and their name was fitting for this couple from B.C.-- B.C. Pizza, the hometown handmade gourmet pizza.
