Brisbane... hmmmm????
G'day from Hugo,
Its a beautiful Sunday in Brisbane, clear and warm with a slight breeze off the river. First impressions of Brisbane: immaculately clean, compact, friendly for the most part and... expensive. A bottle of water is 3 bucks, coffee 4- 5 dollars everywhere, lunch yesterday (veggie, avocado and cress sandwich with a beer,) 30 …
Laidback Little London
Yet another "stinka" of a day and we had no energy for much sightseeing. A quick tour of the city centre and botanical gardens and we escaped to the cooler south bank where we wandered and enjoyed the breeze and watching all the families barbequing and swimming in the big public pool.
Confusion x 2
The only outstanding item on Dave's list for Singapore was Bougis Street, so we took the underground there. It was only one stop. We wandered around and couldn't quite find what we were looking for (some kind of markets), so we decided to carry on to the casino at the Marina Bay Sands. TravelPod Member ReviewsThe Sebel & Citigate King George Square Brisbane
Mediocre is the word that comes to mind. Outside of its location (just across from King George Square and the mall,) there is not much to squawk about at the Sebel or Citigate. The front desk has been fantastic so my major gripe is really about the internet. There is no wi-fi in the rooms, ethernet only, they charge for each device connected, the service is slow and intermittent for a whopping $30 per day. Keep the price, improve the service! Otherwise, the Sebel is clean and courteous.
