In Texas. It took us 6 - 7 hours to get here and we filled our tank on the way for $20! Under $2 a gallon. Jonathan fm drove straight here via Arby's drive through, a McDonald's coffee pit stop and then. Walmart stop for groceries. Arrived after hours at another state park and it smells amazing after New Orleans - like cedar I think, I have no idea. I'll get brochures tomorrow when we check out with the ranger. As it was almost dark, we haven't explored ...

Well, I-10 and I-12 are in no better shape than last trips. It's like riding a roller coaster for 2 hours. Luckily I-49 was much better. We took I-49 North to line up with Hwy 380 in Texas. This is a small 2 lane highway to nowhere. Roswell, The Very Large Array, Valley of the Fires and the Painted Desert are accessible from this road.

We hit I-20... my mind has been in overdrive. "What have I forgotten?" It usually comes to ...

... with a little picket fence and an arbor gate. It's most outstanding feature was bush roses with the most outstanding fragrance. They were sweet and lemony and could smelled from 3 feet away.

It was a disappointment. The some of the gardens felt forlorn and abandoned. We got a few pictures of some individual roses, but there just wasn’t much to see. ...

          Rain Day

A travel blog entry by travelagain on Apr 24, 2015

... tonight. So, like everyone else, we check the news regularly. There was a tornado warning from about 6pm to 4am. We could hear very heavy thunder north of us and see lots of lightning flashes, but we only got some hard rain for a short period of time at bedtime. From the looks of the weather radar, areas very close to us got hit with very hard rain and wind. But, there were no tornadoes. Thank you, Lord. ...
