This place is the best! Perfect location in a neat town, we enjoyed staying here on our way to California :) The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I believe the truck parked next to my car int he valet garage may have had a rotting animal carcass in the back because when they brought me my car I thought someone had taken a shit in it. Not really the hotel's fault just a bit of a surprise, good morning take a breath of this fresh air! The bed was really comfy though.....

Having spent Sunday night in a Premier Inn Heathrow we had a good flight to Atlanta (9 hours).

If you remember our 3 hour immigration wait at New York airport in 2012 when we vowed not to return to USA - here we are again and the wait looked like being just as long. For some of the group it was and while we joined the zigzag queue at just …

... rooms. Inside has been beautifully restored though we did notice a number of areas needing some loving care. Paint in the main reception, previously the ticket office area, is peeling from the ceiling, but that being said, the ceiling is incredibly high. A lovely experience to be inside the hotel. There are also carriages that you can stay in if you wish rather than booking into a room inside the hotel. And as well, carriages have been restored and ...

          September 1st – day 120

Super hot night with high humidity and
no air conditioning meant little sleep. While it; fine to “camp”
for free at Walmart, having your generator on all night is not. So
everyone was a little grumpy to start the day.

However we had a trip to Rock City
Chattanooga planned. This was opened in 1932 and uses natural rock
          formations plus add ones ...

          ... out of
Chattanooga settling for the night in Kimball TN. We have a list of possible places to stop or eat on the way back to L.A. and Cracker Barrel was right there so we tried it. Turned out our server was having a bad night. She had dropped a large glass jug of water on the floor and then 35 minutes after ordering she came to tell us she'd misplaced our order and it hadn't gone to the cook so do we mind reordering. She did a ...
